After trying to get around with my horrid baby french for a couple of days, it gives me great comfort to go to chinatown because no matter how bad my chinese may be, it can be understood and I can say stuff having to do with food. Whereas in the states I may get a little self conscious going to chinatown after not having spoken any chinese in a while, I had no problem blurting out stuff out like "I would like 4 egg tards please" ; They apparently were guarding them in the back. Other stuff are laid out in bins and you can just grab and pay.
The young girls working there were very nice and helpful. They asked me if I wanted a box of them instead which consisted of 6 freshly made egg tards and was a little over 3 bucks. The Hong Kong Milk tea was also very good. I saw them help out a couple of Indian girls who were new to the area and new to the food. There is a little sit down area in the back.
I was surprised someone wrote a bad review of this place. They were very nice to me and my husband. It helps if you try to speak to them a little in cantonese first. After being here for a couple of days I definitely have sympathy for people whose language is not english/french and can related to them more. The workers here are not rude, just the opposite.
