My wife and I are Vegas locals and enjoy the occasional staycation at the Golden Nugget. We enjoy the pool with the shark tank, truly a unique experience, the quality restaurants, which give us points on our Landry's select card, and the entertainment on Fremont. On this trip we stayed in the Rush Tower on the 20th floor. The room was newly remodeled, clean, and very nice. The only negative on the room is that it faced Fremont St and even on the 20th floor was rather noisy. During the trip we relaxed, had some good meals, and enjoyed a day bed rental at the H2O pool. The negatives of the trip- we were told that our food and booze purchases at the H2O pool would gain us Landry's points and to take our receipts to the front desk. At the front desk we were told we could not get the points. Disappointing but okay. The resort fees have continued to increase and are higher than many of the resorts on the strip and can easily add 20-40% to the price of your room depending on room selection. What truly frustrates me though is a $10 dollar charge on my credit card from them and of course no one can explain it to me except account receivables which is only open limited hours during the week. A manager should be able to assist with this instead of the front desk telling a customer to leave a voicemail and someone will get back to you. The Golden Nugget is the nicest hotel downtown and has been trying to compete with the top resorts but this is not quality service.
