I'm not expecting much, we're at the airport. I do expect that when I sidle up to a bar stool at a not overly busy bar that I at least get some eye contact and a "hey how are you!" in a timely fashion. I didn't get that.
I noticed that neither did any of the half dozen other patrons that sat down around me in the hour that I was there nursing my $11 Caesar.
Sorry to vent, but if you are going to work in the service industry as the front line bartender at an international airport bar on what could arguably be the busiest travel weekend, greeting the customer appropriately would be a nice touch.
After 45 minutes I got my burger, (I think she forgot), scarfed it down and asked for the cheque. The food was OK and that's being generous, but hey we are at the airport, as I was reminded when I saw the cart of pre-prepped food roll through the restaurant into the kitchen.
They did mix a decent Caesar, hail to that!
Everyone should get a second chance, so while I will probably stop in again for a drink next time I have a delay, I might grab a lunch elsewhere.
