| - To be honest, I was expecting a lot more from the Cat Cafe. I have been to a cat cafe before and have enjoyed cute decor, adorable cat-themed drinks/food, and a pleasant atmosphere. Cat Cafe did not offer me any of these. Although the cats were very friendly, it was not enough to make me want to return.
First of all, I was disappointed with the self-serve drinks. I understand the regulations, but I would have at least appreciated some cat-themed items (ie. cat mugs, cat cookies, etc.) Just SOMETHING to spruce up the unattractive metal serving area.
In addition, in the middle of enjoying a cup of tea, one of the staff members began to vacuum the cat area. This was not only disruptive to the cats but also to the customers and could have been easily avoided by tending to mess throughout the day with a broom.
I read previously that the owners intended to install an audio system. I have yet to see this in action, as my Cat Cafe experience was silent. Music can really help add to the ambiance and warmth of a Cafe and I was again disappointed by this fall-through.
Something positive though - the cats were lovely. Very friendly and of varied personality. I also like the mission of the Cafe to help find homes for some of the cats they're fostering. I would have appreciated if this message was more clearly advertised to customers rather than just on the website. As a walk-in customer, the whole point of the business was a little hard to decipher. For $10.11, I did not feel like the Cat Cafe was an experience I'd like to repeat.
