| - If I'd gotten around to writing this review even a few months ago, I'd have rated Watch It a few stars higher.
Just a few storefronts north of Yonge-Dundas Square, Watch it offers a range of watches, sunglasses, and other accessories. Ever-shifting displays of Ray-Bans, Oakleys, and other shades grab your attention immediately, while inside a series of glass showcases tempt me with watches.
I love watches, so this store should be dangerous.
At one point it was; the whole storefront still features most of Nixon's lineup, although lately it tends towards the less expensive pieces (still high on design, but featuring cheaper Japanese movements), I'm a sucker for a cool looking watch, but I have to move on.
At one point Watch It featured a number of mid-range brands, including Tissot and Victorinox-both favourites.
Sadly, these have vanished from this location, replaced by more fashion brands and shelf-fillers like Citizen and G-Shock. Pricing isn't outrageous, but unless you catch a big-time sale, there's not much here that you can't find elsewhere any more.
No offence to those who enjoy, but if I'm shopping for a watch, I'd rather head to Right Time in the Atrium mall to get my Swiss on, or to the Accessory Bar a few blocks north, for something further off the beaten path.
My swatch buying days are long over (at least for now), but I still pop in to Watch It for a browse every now and then...but that's about as far as I'd go.
