It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. I've been going to Flower Child for years. I used to really look forward to going there because I thought their collection was special, bountiful, and reasonably priced and organized. While I still think some of that assessment is true the customer service has consistently disappointed me on my last several experiences there. I stopped by this afternoon looking to find some vintage gloves to match a 60s cocktail dress. There were no other customers in the store. I showed one of the two employees who was sitting on the couch when I entered my dress hoping that she might direct me to some gloves that would complement it. As a seller of vintage clothing, I honestly was hoping to get her opinion on what would look good with the dress. She barely glanced at the photo, seemed completely disinterested and told me I'd have to look downstairs and try some on. She did not tell me where specifically or walk me downstairs to assist. She did not ask any further questions about what style or look I was going for. If she was maybe the only employee working and needed to supervise the front counter I could maybe understand or hey, maybe if there was another customer she was helping I'd get it but there was no one there! At a place like Flower Child, the amount of product can be overwhelming and another set of discerning eyes is much appreciated. Perhaps, my standards of customer service are too high but I know when I go to Future No Future (vintage store in Lakewood, if you're unfamiliar) the owner of the store stops whatever it is she's doing to help me. The last time I was there she was running circles around the store trying to help me find a bridesmaid's dress for my friend's wedding - and oh by the way, there were other customers there that she was also attending to. I'd recommend going to Future No Future or Sweet Lorain if you're looking for unique vintage pieces sold by people who seem to care a bit more about their customers. Flower Child you make me :(
