| - Dr. Vaughn....Where to begin to relate how absolutely wonderful this man is.
My injury was work related. After a fall from a good height, my heel was pretty well demolished. Since this was to be a life changing event for me, I wasn't really prepared for everything to come with treatment, surgery and recovery.
I flew in from the Midwest and immediately was impressed with Dr. Vaughn. He is very kind and put my fears to rest right away. We discussed our initial concerns and set a date for surgery.
I believe it is important to add at this juncture that his office is always immaculate. Having OCD myself, it is a real pleasure to be seen in an office where things are clean enough to eat off of. This practice of his, though, continues in his actual work habits. He is quite methodical and exacting and even down to the smallest of details Dr. Vaughn is precise and careful.
I am now 9 months out from surgery and things with my heel bone are going very well. 12 screws and a plate later my heel is actually back together and the healing process is going very well. After a recent independent medical exam, the ortho remarked that "there is a beautiful piece of artwork in your foot." For another foot surgeon to make this type of statement just reaffirmed my faith in Dr. Vaughn and his ability as a surgeon.
Most importantly, I always knew that Dr. Vaughn had my best interest at heart, and that he saw me as a person and not another medical case. It is his greatest asset that he is as involved with the patients as he is. It is as if he is a family member making sure that he is taking care of another family member.
Without a doubt, I will ALWAYS return to Dr. Vaughn for all of my foot and ankle needs. He has cemented his Doctor-patient relationship with me permanently.
Thank you Dr. Vaughn, and Ellen (the greatest right hand woman a man could have), for all that you do.
