| - Wow. There's a ton of stuff going on at Dutch Dreams. The operative word being a "ton".
A vintage child-sized statue of a pinup lady beckons you through the doors. Once you're inside, it's like you've fallen down a rabbit hole of nostalgic 50's. The walls are plastered with photos of drive-through women of the era; a cotton candy machine narrowly squeezes jn front of one of several ice cream cases; rows of shelves are filled with different types of licorice, tins of Dutch cocoa, cookies, jams, and candy. Look up and you'll see a garden gnome, swinging happily amongst old coppery kitchen pans.
When you've finally managed to avert your glaze to the menu on the wall (olden-timey soda shop-style, of course) you'll find a ton of ice cream and ice cream delivery methods. This includes a freshly made waffle with ice cream piled to roughly the size of a human head.
I picked a single scoop of half Drake's Peanut Butter (spot his photo on the wall, taken with the staff!) and half Grape Nut (the cereal) on a chocolate dipped waffle cone rolled in pink, baby blue and pastel purple candy bits (named The Cotton Candy, +$2). The "single scoop" was actually two scoops - two very large scoops, topped with a bit of whipped cream and a few fruit slices.
There's so much more I want to tell you about this place, but this review would then just keep on going forever. Just trust me: try this place for yourself, and love it or hate it, you'll likely find a lot of things to say about it...like, a ton.
