rev:text	Frugal MacDoogal's has quite the positive reputation. You've probably passed it going to or from NC to SC, or heard about it. It's the giant liquor warehouse with the view of Carowinds. July 3rd it was a madhouse. Despite that, there was no ill will, grumpy customers or people honking in the jam packed parking lot. The line on the liquor side was all the way to the back of the store. Americans not only love their fireworks, but apparently their booze as well. After a quick visit, I delved deeper on the wine and beer section. Compared to the other side, there were tumble weeds blowing through the aisles. I thought Americans loved their beer too?! Apparently, "liquor is quicker"; maybe on holidays we splurge or just want to become inebriated more efficiently. The beer selection was just okay for me and the prices were nothing special. There are bottle shops in NoDa with similar prices. A six pack of Ballast Point IPA was $14.99 here and is the same price at the Common Market in Charlotte. I even think the prices at Total Wine are similar if not a tad better. Some of the more commonly found six packs that you can buy at Harris Teeter or Food Lion were almost $2 more per six pack. Ugh! The cash discount doesn't seem to make much of a dent either. A thirty cent discount on a bottle of wine even times ten is only $3. I did not check to see if they have bulk discounts. There was a Growler filling station that was a great feature. The bathroom was pretty gross and poorly lit (bulb out). I get the impression that this place may be better for liquor sales. We have places like this all over New York and New Jersey, so I didn't find it all that impressive.
