The service @ Annvita was okay, but its not even close to a 5 star hotel level. Well, they are charging a 5 star hotel price on their high tea specialty menu. We ordered the high tea set, we had high hope and high expectation as it feels nice because of their interior decorations. There is nothing unique about the tea. The tea cup and tea pot are nicely looking but the color is faded away. The tea pot has chip and cracks on them. In this type of English High Tea Room, chip and cracks on a tea pot is not acceptable...
My heart stopped as soon as the 3 level high tea pastry set arrived. The quality and presentation of any of the items on the high tea set look worse than any of those cakes you can get from the cheap bakery shop or grocery store. For example, the tea set contains: Pringle chips topped with some meat and lettuce; small piece of cold toasted white bread with lettuce and some kind of salad as sandwiches; Ritz crackers topped with a tiny bit of potato salad and a tiny piece of ham. The most ridiculous of all: small piece of cold toasted white bread with popcorn chicken..... They emphasize British style and culture, but when did popcorn chicken ever get into the traditional royal British culture? It doesn't make sense especially when they are serving Taiwanese Style popcorn chicken and not western 'KFC' style..... I guess you can argue it's 'fusion' or 'innovation'. I am just too old to accept this as a type of 'creativity'.
Annvita is well decorated outside and interior, that's about it. I will give them a higher rating if they call themselves a 'museum' instead of English Tea Room...
