I thought I'd save myself some money and take advantage of the $39 exam/cleaning advertised in the paper. Imagine my surprise when I was presented with an estimate of over $800 worth of suggested dental work!
Granted, it had been over three years since my uninsured self had been to the dentist, so there were some issues to be addressed. And I have to say that the exam/x-rays were very thorough. But after consulting with a different dentist, I feel that they overstated my case in order to upsell me on services. The office has all the latest technology as well as an interior decorator's touch, and all that razzle dazzle doesn't come cheap. I guess if they have all of this technology available, they feel compelled to use it, even if it's overkill.
Anyway, after shopping around, I chose a much less fancy dentist and saved about $300. If you've got lots of money and don't mind paying for fancy overhead, Rock Springs will suit you just fine. But if you have that kind of money, how's about chipping in on MY dental bill?
