| - Fabulous experience.
While my Uber experiences have been limited (I'm fairly mobile due to the good public transportation system in the Bay area), I would like to state that my Uber experience in Vegas was a great one. Moving forward, I will continue to utilize the services when I am visiting Vegas.
It was very easy to locate and either walk to/position ourselves for the 5 Uber requests. The first piece of advice is to download the app to your smartphone, that way it will be easier for you to locate one nearby as well as positioning in regards to how long it will take the driver to come to you. Second, payment is done via credit card per the app so there is no exchange of cash or dilly dallying. Third, remember to tip the driver since gratuity is not included via the smartphone. While a taxi from McCarran would have normally cost us an easy $25-$30, our trip was only $5.60 so we gave him a $10 tip due to the savings. We even had one Uber driver that had cold bottled water in the back seat since temps were rising outside!
Every driver was nearby and came to us within 5 minutes and many of our trips were done in less than ten minutes. It would have taken a taxi 20 minutes or more if we had taken a taxi. While our first driver was wired in (ipad, smartphone, Waze app, etc) and another wasn't, although he knew his way around Vegas, bear in mind that some may take longer than others, especially if they are newer as a driver.
Fantastic option to have in a city where there are no regulations via Taxis and as a visitor, the last thing I want to have done is being ripped off by a taxi driver who thinks I don't know the strip.
