I'm sitting here with my daughter who is finally asleep.. I want to take her out of here right now but, she is an adult and has to make that decision. She was transferred here from another facility to see a plastic surgeon d/t a possible airway restriction. I don't understand any of this but, I understand care and treatment. She has been here since early this morning. She had seen no-one except a registry nurse who was trying to be helpful but, overwhelmed with the pt. load and all her demands. She didn't even know where to find a towel. There were no towels or any supplies in the bathroom and honestly for a long period of time no one around to ask. There was a name on the board as to who her nurse was and so we just assumed it was the registry nurse since she was the only one we saw. When she finally and I mean finally came with pain medication she administered it without asking any questions. It was Diladid an extremely powerful drug that the Dr. prescribed for a pain level of probably 5 or 6. My daughter fell asleep almost immediately for around 45 min. When she woke up she was vomiting and loose stools. I had to beg someone to come help us. We are not in the ER we are in a room.. Nice, modern and clean. Finally, we met her actual nurse after I ran down the hall trying to find water/ice something to help. The nurse was very apologetic and realized she didn't come and check on her or introduce herself. She just "thought we were okay in here".
