  • Do not use Insight Diagnostic services if the results you are looking for are the difference between life and death. My pregnant wife was diagnosed with a 12.2cm subchorionic hematoma early in pregnancy. After rest, we were referred to this clinic by our OB for a follow-up ultrasound. They reported that the hematoma had fully healed. The results were strange because my wife was still bleeding. Days after the results, we went to Toronto East General where they diagnosed the hematoma at 26.1cm and were immediately transferred to Sunnybrook in the High Risk Pregnancy unit. The hospital technician said that there was no way anyone could have missed such a large hematoma that was clearly not healed. The results from this clinic completely jeopardized our pregnancy and luckily we went to hospital to get a correct diagnosis. When I approached the office to discuss this in person, the receptionist laughed. She looked at me and laughed, like sh!t happens! To be fair, she looks like she had a few screws loose to begin with. A call to head office has gone unanswered but I will definitely be following up. I would plead with you to please not use this service. We have learned that ultrasound technicians are an unregulated professional and often, Administrative staff are trained to do the procedure. True professionals are certified through American certification. Always ask for your ultrasound technician's license number and if they don't have one, walk away. Hospitals have higher standards for these professions (for obvious reasons) and we learned (from hospital ultrasound technicians) that the only place to get a professional, unbiased and accurate result is from a hospital. Often, little company's like this are affiliated with OB's so that they get referrals and a consistent form of revenue. Rest assured, this is a business, they are not looking out for you. I promise you that I'm not a weirdo or making much ado about nothing. Make the drive to Michael Garron or Sunnybrook or literally ANY hospital to have your ultrasound completed, especially if you have a complicated pregnancy. This mistake may mean the difference between life and death and this company refuses to acknowledge our concerns. You will never speak to someone and voicemails go unanswered. Once our situation is resolved, we will be pursuing our legal options.
