| - Thanks to the construction on the 215, I was forced to make a wrong turn which led me to the awesome land of cheap food that is WinCo.
Let me start off by saying that this place is AMAzing.
You walk in to a big warehouse grocery store. There are shelves of food with labels displaying the cheap Winco price versus Walmart/Smiths price. Gatorade for 68 cents! Pillsbury brownie mix for 50 cents a box!! Simply lemonade for $2!!! Wow-ee, just walk around the store and be amazed at all the low prices!! (I have found that these prices have changed on subsequent visits. Gotta go at the right time!)
My absolute favorite thing about this store is the candy section. There are giant barrels and tubes of candy: assorted gummies (bears, eggs, army men, rings, etc), licorice (apple, pineapple, strawberry), chocolate (raisins, nuts, etc) and sour belts. Gummy bears are $1.98/lb....way cheaper than the prepackaged Haribos or Black Forest...and they are delicious...yes the black cherry flavor is good! Sourbelts are $5.29/lb. There is also an aisle of the standard prepackaged candy (Haribo bears 98 cents, Black Forest) and the prices here are a good 20-40 cents cheaper than the grocery store/Walgreens...TRUST me, I know the prices of my candy.
I can rave about this place all day, but I'll let you check it our for yourself and be AMAzed.
There are only 2 locations: north and south.
You have to bag your own groceries.
You get a 6 cent discount for bringing in a reusable grocery bag.
