  • For Spa Service Only - not the pool. This place is super confusing. If you are used to spas in the US, here's a few tips... Bring your own sandles. Thankfully, I happened to be wearing flip-flops that day. Check-in at the front (they don't have slippers or sandles for you). Go downstairs to the locker rooms. Do your thing, switch into the robe. Then, go through the lounge area to check-in at the other desk for your actual service. There's some couches here, but they are super awkward and not that loungey to want to sit in prior to a spa appointment. I found some seats outside to lay on, read a book, and enjoy the view. It's cool this spot is on the water. Although, if you want to drink water, you have to ask for it, and you get it in a cone so you can't sit it down anywhere. I was super frustrated with the check-in and pre-service experience at Bota Bota. I'm not a partier or need to hang out at a pool with random people, so I didn't buy the extra experience stuff. If you are into that, it may be perfect for you. I'll be honest, I was really concerned about the massage I had booked as my first hour at the spa wasn't that peaceful or relaxing. Last thing I want to be is "on" and trying to figure out how everything works because no one explains it to you. However, my massage was easily in my top 3 all time. I had a 1.5 hour Lomi Lomi massage, and I melted. The therapy room was beautiful, relaxing, and brought this one star review up to 3 total. My therapist (gentleman that spoke very little English) was INCREDIBLE. After your therapy, you have to check-out at the lounge area desk before going to the locker room. Then, go back to the locker room, change, then bring your robe upstairs to check-out AGAIN. This is such a pain in the a**. Who wants to carry their robe around? Check in and out multiple times?
