  • Soyo is a rare Korean restaurant in the Nevada desert. Having come from LA, I've been spoiled by the variety of Korean restaurants I've eaten at in Koreatown. Soyo is probably the closest I've gotten to the Koreatown style venue in Vegas. When you walk in, there are Korean arcade games on the right of the entrance, and tables and booths for your to sit in on the left. You may be greeted in Korean by the wait staff, and they've been more than accommodating and attentive. Usually they're playing the latest Kpop, so if you're into that, Soyo is a great place for that Korean experience. Every time I'm here I'm with a large group of friends, so I've tried many of there standard dishes including the yang nyam chicken (sauce-covered fried chicken), jjigae (stew) which come in tofu, seafood, or beef varieties. The food is usually a bit salty, but that's how Korean food normally is, so if you're watching your sodium intake, you may want to go easy on the dishes here. The meat is always flavorful and easy to chew. I'm not very discerning when it comes to Korean food, but the food is comparable to the LA Koreatown fare. Their tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) is a staple at Korean bar/restaurants, so be sure to order that for the crew. Overall Soyo is very clean and organized. The staff periodically checks on the tables to see if you need anything. The food is delicious and there's rarely a wait. If you're craving Korean food, give Soyo a try, you'll be coming back again.
