I ordered a candied yam and half a rack of ribs on Mother's Day. As it was, all the mothers appeared to be off that day and only one guy was running the show. Understandably the wait time turned out to be long.
The candied yam was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I detected sugar (of course), cinnamon, and perhaps some sort of pumpkin spice. I really enjoyed the "fall off the bone" quality of the ribs, but what made this a 3-star rather than a 4-star was that I just was not wowed by the sauce. Compared to the full on spicy and pungent attack of awesomeness that is the sauce at Wilson's ribs, this just didn't compete. The sauce wasn't bad per say, but something was missing. Maybe Wilson's and Big Mama could get together and make the perfect rib.
