| - I have been to this location four times. The first was good. The fourth was flawless (and also on a Sunday @ 11 AM). The second and third were disastrous. The third, unfortunately, was my birthday.
The BOTTOM LINE:
I would go back, my spouse will not. However, I would not risk a special occasion on this restaurant.
THE GOOD:
(1) a something-for-everyone menu
(2) truly spectacular tasting menu items
(3) managers seem genuinely contrite, and they are adroit at making good on mishaps.
(4) reservations are accepted, but waiting with a drink on the patio is a great experience.
THE BAD:
(1) a service bar so slow during dinner peak that you'd think the first step in making your drink was applying for a liquor license.
(2) if you're like me and appreciate a well paced meal, you'll have to DIY-it by specifying to the server when the kitchen is OK to begin preparing the next course. (inept and thoughtless pacing happened 3 of 4 times)
(3) You will invariably be first sat under a full-blast A/C vent or fan aimed at your upper back, and you will have to request a new table. (happens every time I sit inside)
The UGLY:
The food quality is inconsistent. (3 of 4 visits resulted in myself or someone in my party sending back a deficient item for being too cold, overcooked, watery, etc.) Rectifying the problem takes long enough to ruin the pacing of the meal for the table as whole. Ordering is slight gamble, which, for a restaurant, is the deadliest sin of all.
