| - Before I get into details, I just need to say my tattoo is AMAZING!! The difference is just like night and day with this tattoo shop vs another shop which I'll keep anonymous for now.
I've been planning to get a scorpion tattoo for some time now. This would be my second tattoo. The scorpion, symbolizing the Scorpio horoscope, means a lot to me. Reading about the sign help me learn a lot of where my personality comes from. I'm one to believe everything happens for a reason and when, where, and why things happens all have their reasons because everything around us is connected.
I phoned into Chronic Ink the night before originally trying to get a quote on a phoenix tattoo to cover my current phoenix done at a different shop (which looks horrifying btw). I decided to go in and check this place out so I phone the business right after work if they're cool with walk-ins. It was already past 5pm. So they were expecting me for 6pm I guess cuz they close at 8pm. I have to admit that before going I felt nervous because of its location and I had a bad experience with my previous artist. But let me tell you, this place is awesome. You guys don't have to worry.
I arrived at approximately 7pm and I met my tattoo artist Steve. He helped me draw out a scorpion and worked with me in regards to my budget. At first I guess I was trying to take control telling him how to draw it and the size and placement of it, then eventually I let him do his thing. He showed me what he had I'm mind of a more realistic scorpion than the one I had on my phone, which doesn't compare to my cute little buddy btw. I wanted to place it on top of my shoulder as if I'm carrying him around with me. I had no idea where to place my tat, then he helped me out with it. I'm so glad he was patient with me and he was so hilarious. I had him and my cousin trying to make me laugh and I was trying to hold it in because I didn't want to mess up the tat. I just can't say with words how much I love my tat. It's like a love story. I was relaxed and really excited at the same time. When Steve was almost done, he helped me draw a shadow for my little guy, omg its so cute. I felt bad because he stayed over-time but I was really relieved that he didn't try to rush it or anything.
Also, I will return to Steve at Chronic Ink to do a bigger piece on my back of a phoenix to cover the existing tat on my back from another artist.
