I'm not surprised they only have 3 stars. This place has so much potential! I think the employees truly want the customers to have a great time but sadly ownership and management put such pressure on them about stupid little rules that it irritates the customer to the point they probably won't return. That's at least the case for me. First and foremost, they serve Pepsi not Coke. For me, that is enough to never return to any establishment for any reason whatsoever.
Second issue, I bought a beer at the lobby and walked down to say hello to my wife and kids at the pool and I couldn't bring it in because it was "outside food and drink," which apparently isn't allowed.
Let me point this out again. I purchased a beer from this establishment and I wasn't allowed to take it somewhere else on the same establishment.
There is no amount of explanation or reasoning that they can give me where this will somehow make sense.
The only reason I'm here is because of a conference that is being held here. I thought it would be nice to bring my wife and kids along so they could enjoy the amenities while I was working.
My wife pointed out to me that the reason they do it is because somebody could buy a beer with the hotel logo on it and then take it up to their room and fill it up with their own beer and bring it into the pool.
Oh dear me what ever shall we do we lost nine dollars here and there, on an already grossly overpriced beer! I can just hear ownership screaming this from the mountain tops to their staff.
Since I still have a full day left, it was nice to figure out this so soon. Tonight, instead of eating on the property, I will happily leave and eat somewhere else so they can get as little of my money as possible.
The only reason I'm giving them three stars because the front desk staff was amazingly efficient and kind when I checked in. Even though it was a madhouse, they kept her cool and that made me happy. I travel 45 weeks a year and this is the first place that I've been really disappointed with in at least two of those years.
