  • My Girlfriend and I spend the weekend at the Plaza. We have always loved visiting and spending time on Freemont Street. Thus, we assumed the Plaza would be the perfect place to stay. My review is solely based on our experience. The front desk, when we arrived and for random local question, provided very good customer service. However, here are my observations, opinions, and review: * The room was neat and the view was nice. However, they gave us a handicapped room which was oddly spaced. The room had no coffee maker, which we thought was a mistake. We have stayed in budget hotels/motels to high-end and always had a coffee maker in the room. When we asked the front desk about this the next morning ( Expecting a positive resolution for the customer ), the African American gentlemen (Not sure if he was just a front desk representative or a lead/supervisor) replied in a curt and sarcastic/rude way with, "Do you have a suite?". We replied, "We don't think we do...". His rude reply, "Then, no you don't get one because you don't have a suite" and turned his head away and continued with what he was working on. There was absolutely no attempt to discuss, empathize, be positive, etc. We were left with the feeling of, "Wow, that was such a bad response...". The room also had no fridge of any kind. The iron was in the bathroom. And, there were no towel racks of any kind. It was a small counter for two people, and limited space taken up with all the towels stacked up on it. The tub/shower was extremely small. The tub floor-mat for the inside of it, was folder in the corner. When we picked it up, to lay in on the floor of the tub, there was greenish/black mold growing under it. * The cocktail waitresses on the casino floor, not one of them ever addressed us as we were gambling. Not a hello?, can I get something for you?, Welcome to the Plaza, absolutely nothing. * One really fun and good thing, was the disco/70's band they had playing on the floor. To escape the cold night weather of that weekend, we went inside and had fun dancing, people watching, and listening to music. Again, however, not one cocktail waitress stopped to see if we wanted anything. Although, they walked by us several times.
