  • We had planned on coming as a group on May the 4th (yes. We are those people), but the wind storm knocked the power out and Proxima called us to say they wouldn't be able to host us. This was our first sign of really excellent customer service from these guys: they still let us congregate at their space (since that's where our group initially chose to meet up), and then they refunded our money because they'd had to cancel. We rebooked for the following weekend (me to my group: "Who doesn't have a life and can come back next week?" All hands go up. The dude who works there, "That's our entire business model!"). Some notes: there is a nice washroom. Everyone gets to sit down in the spaceship, so no worries if you have standing-impaired guests (one of us is due to have a baby in a few weeks, so she was pleased). We played for eleven minutes and then the game stopped and said we failed. Turns out the guy hadn't restart the system to be a full hour! oops! If we were not easy-going people, that may have bothered some in our group, but we didn't mind. OK, take two...we completed the second round in 26 minutes, which shouldn't really count, because you should factor in the 11 minutes from the first attempt. Then we all switched roles and played again. The roles: some are basically nothing. It says 5-7 players, I think you could get away with 4 even, and I recommend 5. 7 was too many, as two people had almost no role. At the beginning, the guy went through the roles with us, and then gave us some advice. I think he should skip some of the advice, as I think it would be even more fun knowing less, make it more 'escape' and less video game. This was fun, we all left with big smiles, and I think with a few tweaks (and a smaller crew) it would be even more fun!
