| - Easy 5 stars. Yeah, its name may be derived from Dairy Queen (McDowell's anyone?). But maybe not, as this place could just as well be as old. On top of that they live up to their namesake of 'cream' as they're clearly using quality dairy here.
The value is more than fair, as you can still get a small for around $2 - and it's still a good size. They also make their own genuine fried funnel cakes and even their own waffle cones. The taste of a real, soft, fresh waffle cone is miles ahead of packaged ones. About the only critique I have is that there's only one size of waffle cone (large), so I get more than I want or need.
Still, having quality dairy soft-serve, in a real waffle cone, then dipped in chocolate and coated in peanuts for $4 is something I can easily live with. My wife feels their butterscotch milkshake is one of the best she's had. You're not going to get that taste with cheap, skimmed ice-milk.
Dairy Cream may not officially be royal, but I still give it the crown.
