| - The general consensus that Thaiger is worth a 4 -- so true. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal, but wasn't lickin the sauce off my plate for more.
The interior is very intimate and you can view the chefs cookin up your meals behind the bar (I hear it gets hot if you're sitting in that area). By 6:30p on a random Tues. night it was busy. Service was prompt and friendly, and everything that my friends and I ordered happened to be suggestions from the waitress herself.
We started with the Satay Sampler that included beef, chicken and shrimp. Excellent presentation and meat, but since I'm not a giant fan of peanut sauce, this app. was just so-so.
Kristin R. got the Holy Basil Chicken, which we all agreed was the best choice. The sauce of this stir-fry like dish is truly what made it *pop*. Even on a hot night, eating something warm like this just felt comforting. Not too overpowering, just the right amount of kick to it. Chris C. got the Pla Duk Grapao, catfish covered in a similar sauce as the Holy Basil. Yum as well, and cooked just right so the fish flaked well. Lastly, I got the Beef filet & Green Papaya Salad. The filet was very thin and cooked well, yet I can't see myself fully enjoying it w/o the green chili the sauce that came on the side (make sure you dip into this one). The green papaya salad was def a hit for me. The papaya is shredded so finely that it appears to be noodle-like. It's very summer-like, while having a definite spice to the chili dressing its soaked in.
Loved their homemade Thai Iced Tea as well (they prepared it there I noticed, as the cream was still separated when brought out), and want to come back in the future to try one of their hot pot soups.
Great recommendation from my coworker!
