I will let you know up front I usually do not like celebrity restaurants because they are overhyped and don't seem to deliver value for the price. There are a few exceptions to this rule and Buddy V's is one of them for the following reasons.
1) As celebrity restaurants go, Buddy V's doesn't try to be trendy, rather it sticks to rustic italian fare and is very successful at it.
2) Pricing is actually more on the reasonable side than ultra expensive. For $38.00 you can get a fixed price meal of an appetizer, entree and desert. I had the Grandma's meatballs which were incredible, light fluffy balls of flavor in a red sauce; a pasta dish consisting of Bucatini, a thin tube spaghetti with pancetta black pepper and egg(this was my favorite dish of the night and is worth going back for more), and closed the night with nutella cake which was delicious. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals.
3) The service is fantastic. The waiter was very knowledgeable, guiding us with knowledge of all the dishes on the menu and providing prompt drink service and bread service.
All in all a great experience for the simple Italian cooking.
