  • Scheduled a 3:10 appointment and arrived at 3:00. No one else in the waiting room. At 3:20 another patient arrived. At 3:40 (30 minutes) I asked a nurse how much longer we would have to wait. She said she couldn't tell us and they were backed up with only 2 providers. At 3:50 the other patient was taken in. At 4:07 (57 minutes) I asked the front desk how much longer it would be and if she couldn't tell me then I wanted to cancel my appt and have the co-pay refunded. She went to the back and miraculously came back and said the nurse was coming to get us. I asked the nurse why the wait was so long and she said the same thing, that they were backed up. I thanked her for stating the obvious but wanted to know HOW this came to happen. She said she didn't know. After a 3 minute records update we were taken to another room where we waited for 21 minutes before being seen by a physician assistant (she was professional and thorough) who did not want to discuss the wait time. She only said they were backed up because of walk-ins and appointments. After reading the other reviews, this practice of absurd wait times seems to be consistent. Today was not a "first-time" or one-time occurrence. Therefore I have to conclude that Dr. Garcia is fine with it. It is rude and inconsiderate to assume that patients should accept this. It also sends a message that they could care less whether you remain a patient or not. In our case, we're NOT. They must have plenty of business and not have to be concerned with a few negative reviews. Most "customers" (yes Dr. Garcia - patients are customers) will not bother to write reviews so when 18 of 36 reviews are 3 stars or below (15 are 1 star), something's probably wrong. After complaining, I was given the "personal cell phone of the "Practice Administrator" who is responsible for the office. I was assured that because it was her personal number she would call back immediately. Sure thing - no call back. Why should I be surprised. Looking for another pediatrician. I don't need to pay to be treated like this. This is pure arrogance combined with business ignorance.
