I've been to the original food cart a few years back so I decided to check out the first franchise brick and mortar location here in Toronto that just opened recently. As expected, there were line ups even at around 2pm. However it moved relatively quickly. It took around 25 minutes to order and get my food.
Personally, the original one in New York was nothing amazing to begin with and this one here is more or less the same. I think it was more of a tourist spot than anything else. But at $6 USD back then, it was a very reasonable price, the portion was fairly substantial and it was decent overall for a quick meal.
I had the beef gyro platter as I wasn't a fan of their chicken. The white sauce was decent as usual with the beef gyro and rice. The most memorable part was definitely the hot sauce!
Overall it isn't worth lining up for especially at their price point. But feel free to check it out if it doesn't look too busy to fulfill your curiosities. I think Toronto actually has some pretty good places already for these types of dishes and at a much lower price.
