I'm a fan of nail art and I have a manicure on my hands at least 8 months out of the year so my nails are strong but thin AF now. I've been on the hunt for SNS nails (powder dipped nails) since it's a healthier alternative to gel and shellac and decided to make it a date to come here with my niece. I found this shop through Yelp and their Instagram (@organicnailbarto) so my niece made appointments for the both of us -- acrylic gel chrome nails for her and Nugenesis dipping powder for me.
When we arrived, they told my niece that it would be a 45 minute additional wait for acrylic, even though we made an appointment so she went ahead and did gel on her nails. Winnie was my nail tech and she was friendly, but I felt hurried throughout my process. My nails weren't filed evenly and my cuticles were trimmed and my nail beds were buffed using the electric file. I'm also unsure if she used sanitized and/or new tools on me... they were already at her station, so I'm assuming that they were previously used (I saw a sanitizing machine so I can only hope!) The dipping organic mani was a super cool concept and I was told that it would last 3-5 weeks. I'm only on week 1 and so far so good! However, she didn't really clean underneath my fingernails and there was residue from the powder underneath each of my nails.
As for my niece's manicure, there were two girls that were working on her. The first girl decided that she wasn't going to finish, so my niece was moved to another station for another girl to finish the chrome. The manicure itself was very cool but there were dents in the chrome. It also cost an additional $25 for the chrome finish.
The prices were fair, but I would pass.
