| - I almost gave 3 stars because the maintenance and staff crew is nice, helpful, and (with consideration to the high volume of people moving in and out at one time) gets requests done in a timely manner. The recent renovations look really nice, the pool area is awesome, it is close to campus and a fun environment to make friends. When we first moved in everything was filthy, definitely had not been cleaned and it SMELLED EXTREMELY FOUL (the smell lingered throughout the year, like no amount of febreeze/airfresheners/cleaning helped). On move in day there was broken glass underneath my bed like someone had broken through the window, strange food stains on the walls and ceiling, dents on the outside of the refrigerator like someone took a hammer to it, the fridge and freezer were missing multiple shelving parts so we used duct tape in place of the shelves for the year, and there were a bunch of random little things missing like the knob to turn on the dryer.
My bathroom door couldn't open all the way because it hit the bathtub causing you to have to squeeze in awkward positions, or stand in the tub, if you wanted to close the door while you use the bathroom... Our apartment flooded at least 4 times for numerous reasons, the first few being that a pipe in the wall had a hole in it and there were noodles inside of the wall? (Weird)... The door to the laundry closet literally just fell off as I was opening it one day denting my roommates door (which we were charged for). The AC went out multiple times. I only saw roaches inside a handful of times.
If you live by the pool I'm sorry... there will always be someone blasting music, screaming, or fighting outside your window. You will NOT SLEEP HERE. The walls/doors are VERY VERY VERY THIN. It really sounds like the people in the other room are right next to you, I could even hear the phone of the person who lived above me ring/vibrate.
My roommates were shown a completely different unit and we were promised things to look a certain way and our actual apartment definitely did not look as promised.
I'm really only upset because my roommates and I moved into a complete filthy disaster and spent a lot of time cleaning before move out. We left the apartment 100x cleaner on move out but were still charged random "cleaning fees" They clearly did NOT care to clean our unit before we moved in so I'm not entirely sure what these fees go towards.
Overall this place is very nice on the grounds/outside but the actual units are old, run-down, and just plain dirty. The individual leases are great for people who need a place to live but don't want to be responsible for damages done by other roommates. The staff is very nice and tries to compensate but this was honestly a huge headache for me, live here if you don't need sleep and want to spending your entire first week deep cleaning your apartment.
