| - This was my first experience with ballroom dancing and I think overall the studio offers friendly and professional services. My first visit here was during a party held to attract new clients, which the management seems keen to do. With all the condo construction in the area, it seems like only a matter of time before the studio is booked solid with eager students!
I bought the wedding lesson package, which offered six lessons. I think the lessons are quite expensive; they are about the same price as hiring a pricey personal trainer, so I tried to think of it that way. It was a splurge for our wedding, but my husband and I didn't regret it at all. We had a few different instructors over the course of two months, but overall I thought they seemed pretty competent and professional. Best of all, the instructors have a good sense of humor and are adept at making newcomers feel welcome and comfortable.
The only caveat I have is considering the prices I pay for lessons, it would make sense to have exclusive access to the floorspace. There were a few times where our lessons were shared by one or two other couples, which meant sharing music and floor space. With such a limited time to learn a new dance, it's hard enough to focus, so distractions like that can make it difficult. If I had been paying less, maybe I wouldn't have had that expectation.
Keep in mind that if you're learning to dance specific steps for a special occasion, you really need a good-sized space to practice outside of the studio. While the studio offers practice time to paying clients, it's hard to find a time where you won't be sharing the floor with multiple people. That might be a good thing if you're taking general lessons, but if you're working with a particular piece of music, you will probably want to find a space of your own.
