Had a very unfortunate experience at this hotel. I'll explain but first a bit of my impression of the hotel itself. I'd give it three star if it weren't for my incident. We stayed for just one night on a vacation on our way to the Grand Canyon. It's your standard name brand big city hotel, the room was standard size, price was whats to be expected with that brand cache. The outdoor patio space is a little disappointing, the pool is more or less just for kids, too small and shallow for a 6' tall adult to enjoy. So overall it's just average.
Now the sad part. When we checked in we had a lot of gear because we camp, wildlife photography, and were on the road for two weeks. We were told to use a baggage cart we'd have to use bell service - which I was uneasy about doing considering the value of my photography gear. Unfortunately I should have stayed with my gut instinct and not used their service and just left all that equipment in the van. Long story short it ended up in a grand theft, police report filed with Phoenix PD, insurance claim submitted. The hotel's security was excellent at telling me what I needed to hear at the time but now won't return my e-mails. Luckily my home owners covered about 80% of the loss or I'd have been out thousands. My secondary insurance said that since there was no evidence of a break in it's considered "mysterious disappearance" and denied my coverage. Hyatt would not release a copy of the lobby footage to me so I have no way to show the secondary insurance that it was theft.
Take this as a cautionary tale and if you are a professional relying on the hotel's security and cameras to protect your valuables, in my opinion you should look elsewhere.
