I was there last Friday night for their Friday the 13th #FNLROM "Superstition" event. I arrived at 6:30pm (doors open at 7pm) because I didn't pre-buy my ticket online. I did try during the week but they were SOLD OUT by Monday during the week. The lineup for anyone without a ticket was HUGE, it wrapped around the ROM and down Avenue Rd. till Museum station when I arrived... And the line grew even longer after I arrived so I strongly suggest buying your ticket online for any FNL event before you go. They're cheaper anyway and waiting in line, in the freezing cold sucks! I only made it close to the front of the line at around 8pm!
The venue was really nice and there were several floors to cater to different tastes. This was my first time there so I really wanted to see the exhibits. Others who have been there before, and have seen most of the exhibits already, were more interested in the different food vendors that were available. I must say that all the food that was serve was really good. I particularly liked the Chicken Roti and jerk chicken. There was also Japanese Gushi friend chicken that I couldn't get enough of. Each dish is paid for with "ROM bucks" at $6 a piece (food ticket). Drinks are the same price. They have a pretty full bar rail and Peroni beer. Drinks are also $6 a piece and paid for with "ROM bucks" (drink ticket).
There's a dance floor with an awesome DJ and live band. Lots of people were dancing. The top floor was quite swanky as there was a love sting band. Was a different vibe than the first floor where the dance floor was -- which is why I said the different floors cater to different tastes.
This would be a good once-a-month thing!
