Terrible experience and would not recommend to anyone.
I don't actually fault the salesperson I was working with. I do fault his sales manager and a CarMax in South Carolina for not being honest about the condition of a car I paid to have shipped in.
I saw a 2011 Town Car with only 29k miles online and talked with Walter at the Henderson CarMax about having it shipped in. Before doing this we called and asked about the condition of it as pictures can be deceiving. I was assured the paint was good with no dents and had no issues. This was a lie I would find out.
When it arrived it had dents on the hood, doors and trunk. In addition it had been clearly repainted and it was clearly an amateur paint job. Runs in the paint, contamination and excessive texture in the repainted areas. Scratches all over the car as well.
When I explained that none of this was disclosed and wanted my shipping fees refunded Walter explained the sales manager would not do this. When I asked the sales manager to examine the car with and see all the issues she would not address, or even, acknowledge this. Her response was "it's a used car what do you expect?"
She should be fired on the spot.
If you thought a used car buying experience was any different at CarMax you are mistaken.
This far from over and I will be taking with my credit card company and an attorney.
