| - Very unhappy with how I was treated on my last visit. I have been coming to this store since it recently opened and originally liked what it had to offer. I bought my first firearm there along with ammunition, cases, holsters, eye equipment, ear equipment, and targets. I recently wanted to add fiber optic sights to my pistol that they did not carry in the store but were available online. I was told by two of the gentleman that sold me my firearm, that if I were to purchase the sights online, I was able to bring them in and have them put on by one of them using the required tool. When I received my sights in the mail and brought them into the store, I checked in my weapon at the front, and another man (with full sleeve tribal tattoos) in the gun section told me that they were unable to accommodate me and that I had to take my weapon and sights elsewhere to have them installed. Really?! Sportsman's warehouse? The experts, AND where I purchased all of the equipent from? Already this didn't seem right and after I explained to the gunsman that I was told twice by two of the other men working in the guns department (both not working that day conveniently), he got very aggressive with me and my girlfriend who were standing behind the counter top. We were so upset with how we were treated, we decided to leave, but not before picking up my weapon that was checked into the front of the store. When the two men working at the front asked what was wrong because they saw the frustration on my and my girlfriend's face, I explained to them the scenario and they said that this was not the first, or even second time that a customer has had a bad experience with the man with tribal tattoos working in the gun department. They told me that they could in fact, get the new sights put on my weapon by one of the other workers the next day and asked if I were willing to leave my firearm and sights with the store overnight. I agreed, and left the store to meet with some friends for dinner not before receiving a phone call from another man. NOW THIS IS WHERE IT GETS WORSE! The man on the phone, claiming to be the manager, said that they were unable to accommodate my request, AFTER BEING TOLD A THIRD TIME BY TWO MORE EMPLOYEES that it would be taken care of. Then, he proceeds to tell me that if i don't come back to pick up my weapon today, after I'm already on the complete opposite side of town, and with the store closing soon, THAT I WOULD NEED TO DO ANOTHER BACKGROUND CHECK AND PAY FOR IT BEFORE BEING ABLE TO PICK IT UP THE NEXT DAY! This is coming from the SAME store that I bought the firearm from, the SAME store that I did the background check at to even buy the firearm in the first place! If this isn't appalling enough, I have to leave in the middle of dinner and race back to the store on the other end of town that is now closed, knock on the locked doors, to be greeted by the store manager, Dale Verbarendse. After I give him the entire story and how upset I am, how I've never been treated like this before since the store opened, I told him that he was losing a valuable customer who stops in at least once a week and spends a significant amount of money in his store. He then proceeds to tell me that he will have a "talk" with his employees about the miscommunication and gives me a very insincere apology. After telling him that I will not be returning to his store he says, "What do you want from me?" Not, what can I do to make this right and continue having your business. I told him at this point, I want nothing but to leave. This wasn't before he handed me his business card as if it was something he was proud of when nothing was done to mend the situation. Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had in any customer service environment and will not be returning, as well as advising my friends and family to give their business to ANYWHERE OTHER THAN Sportsman's Warehouse. Disappointed does not even begin to describe how I feel about everything that transpired at this store located at 701 Marks St. Henderson, NV 89014 on Sunday, July 30th, 2017. If a representative of Sportsman's Warehouse other than Dale Verbarendse would like to reach out to me with any other questions or concerns, I can be reached via cell at (951) 212-5972.
