| - Okay, so some background on me: I hate the dentist, I hate having my teeth touched by people, and these two things have led me not to go to the dentist in...a while.
However, I chipped my tooth while eating, and realized that I had to go to the dentist. I called UNLV, since I am a student, but the earliest appointment was at the end of October...so I started looking at other options. I remembered visiting this location when it was Dentalville, but my horrendous experience there made me hesitant to go back. I realized it was under new management and decided to give it a try.
I think it was a sign, because when I called and made an appointment, they just happened to have one open for the next day at 9:30. Sweet! I got there at 9:15 the next morning, filled out some paperwork, and was quickly taken to the back for x-rays and the like. I was informed I would need a deep cleaning and I had some cavities to be filled (sad face). I braced myself for the cost, and the pain. Luckily, my insurance plan has an awesome deductible, so I only ended up a fraction of what it would have cost. (I am still waiting to hear from my insurance to make sure this is accurate, but I will update you if anything changes.)
After making a decision about what to do, the hygienist came in and cleaned my teeth. She was super sweet and explained the entire process to me, why she was doing what she was doing, and what I should look out for. She made sure I was always comfortable, and that my gums were numb. Shortly after she finished, the dentist came in and did my fillings. Last time, I spent almost 3 hours getting the same amount of fillings done, but this time the dentist did them in maybe 20 minutes. When I went to check out, the staff was really helpful and worked with me so that I could pay my total off. They also made sure to send me off with a new toothbrush and floss, and new toothpaste/mouthwash. I came in the next week for a checkup and a polish on my teeth, and they were even sweeter when I came back.
As someone who absolutely hates the dentist, I think my 5 star review really shows how awesome this place is. It is hard to find a good dentist it seems. Like I said, hopefully the cost they gave me was correct, and my insurance will cover anything I didn't pay for. Other than that, I definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for a new dentist!
