Beware of Porter's check in bag policy. The agents at the check in counter will chase you down to security and force you to weight your bags. They then make you fit your bag in this metal structure to see if it fits. I am surprised the agent didn't whip our a measuring tape so that he can tell you exactly how many inches your bag is off by. The weight limit is 9kg. My bag was 10kg and I had to check it in because it was 1kg overweight. I recommend buying a scale so you can make sure your bag isn't 9.1 kg or 9.2 kg. They will ding you for that.
The check in fee for the first bag is almost 40 CAD. We were forced to pay for 2 bags. I could have bought another air ticket for that price. I didn't Porter Airlines was dropping to the level of Spirit Airlines.
Your standard carry on bag that is accepted on most carriers will not be accepted by Porter, so you have to buy a new bag that is Porter complaint.
After paying 80 CAD for bags, we had to wait for a long time because our flight was delayed.
