  • Hubby and I were driving around to get a cup of coffee (from an independent store) when we noticed Sweet Flour. We were curious to see what their niche was...pleasantly surprised to see custom made cookies. The concept reminds me of Subway...pick out your base (oatmeal, regular or peanut butter) and choose your condiments (a great variety to choose from). The have some pre-made cookies, but who can resist "making" your own. I chose regular base with white chocolate and macadamia nuts and hubby chose peanut butter with pecans and dark chocolate ($2.50 each). The counter person mixes each of the mixes, forms a cookie and puts the cookie in a turbo oven. After a couple of minutes the cookie is taken out and cooled before being handed back. We ordered coffee (a bit strong for our liking) and milk (of course). The cookies were good - fair size, tasty, and fresh, but not the best I ever had (the dough seems a little heavy). The disappointment came when our order got mixed up with another person's order. The customer rep already gave our cookie to the other customer (who left). We ended up with cookies that we did not choose. After a bit of explaining that these were not the cookies we ordered the owner offered us free crisp cookie sandwiches. We understood that it was a mistake...but kind of surprised that he did not offer to remake the cookies we originally ordered. Anyways...enjoyed the cookies and the concept of the store. We will be back for cookies and milk...maybe the 2nd time will be the charm.
