How do I top Julia M's review? I can't. Except (assuming my review readers took a brief pause to read her review and remembered to get back to reading mine) that the night we went, all they played was country.
Now I have patience for country. I respect country. I've read essays and wrote a paper supporting the parallelism that exists between country roots and early hip hop. BUT within the hour of my existence the DJ played "country girl" three times assuming like most frat-kids I won't notice. I noticed. So did my friends who stood there with the same expressions like they were waiting in line at McDonalds. They wanna get their "$1 dollar sundaes" on ya dig!?
Then again maybe I'm just not falling for the logic of most clubs these days. Playing music that largely dissatisfies the intellectual palate further increases the chances that everyone will drink themselves to blissful ignorance. But why hate the top 40's and country? Face it, decades from now it's not the Wood Brother's track that'll make the mixtape we distribute to a loved one, but it's the Jonas brother (and I'm talking about Nick because oooo dang, that boy's got ABS) song.
Also is it me or was it confusing as hell getting out of this place?
