I had been to C-lounge some 7-8 years ago and remember it being good, so I was willing to go when my friends suggested it last night. We were on the guest list so didn't stand in line long (not that there was very much of a line) or pay cover and we also parked on the street for free so cost-wise we were ahead of the game.
It wasn't exactly as I remember it. The place isn't laid out well; the coat check is right by the door to the smoker's patio so there is a lot of traffic going in and out and you don't know where to stand and then the harried coat check girl gets annoyed because nobody is in 'line'. They had, what I'm assuming is, some Comicon-inspired cheesy decor put up and I noticed a female server dressed as Robin. Tacky.
The music was TERRIBLE. We were in the mood to dance and the music was really slow, the DJ played some hip-hop, a bunch of songs I've never heard and he even played "California" what? The crowd was also awful, most of the guys were very casually dressed and the vibe wasn't very friendly. There were two different couples totally drunkenly making out on the dance floor, I felt so dirty ever time they rubbed up against us. We were bumped into a lot. I was also elbowed in the back of the head, but really, what did I expect in a crowd of drunken people. We left after a couple of hours. I would only be interested in going back when the weather is nice enough to check out the patio.
