| - Came to Cleveland because I wanted to subject my body to frigid winds and pelting ice from the sky, but I figured when I tired of this experience, it would be a good idea to have a place to sleep for the night. I wanted a hotel with 3 qualities: 1-close to First Energy Stadium, 2-quality reviews on yelp, and 3-less than $200 for a single room. The Westin filled all these preferences, so the booking was made.
On arrival, valet parking was kind and prompt. Grabbing our keys, handing a ticket, grabbing the bags, and shuffling us inside in an efficient and expedient manner. We called for the car on 2 occasions during our stay and waited only a couple minutes for the car to be brought straight to the curb. Those dudes really get their daily activity in!
The desk clerk was courteous and friendly. Check in and out was smooth and hassle free. She informed us that we were assigned a special room to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were on the 20th floor and had a direct view of the stadium and Lake Erie. Very pretty. Thank you, Westin, for making us feel special.
Being a game weekend, the hotel allows guests to check out, but leave luggage checked in house. Return after the game with your ticket for your bags and your valet ticket and you are good to go!!
Besides the amazing view with floor to ceiling windows, the bed and linens were fluffy and full of pillows. A large flat screen TV (we didn't use it, as I mentioned we were there to be pelted with ice and bombarded with chilling winds) with remote was available. The bathroom was pretty, with a large shower and plenty of towels, and all the toiletries were there from lotion to cotton swabs.
The steak place on the first floor of the hotel was quite tasty, but that is a different review.
In conclusion, this was an excellent experience with quality staff and good bedding. I would definitely return here and would not hesitate to stay at another Westin.
