| - I had been in the ER in February and needed to see a new gastrointestinal Doctor. I found Dr. Zitomers office and had been scheduled with PA Noelle Daniels. During my visit, Noelle was helpful and knowledgeable and even had Dr. Zitomer come in for the visit since my situation was quite rare and complicated. After months passed, I was hospitalized for a few days and was told that following my release, I needed to see Dr. Zitomer asap. Again, I could only get in with Noelle who was just as helpful as she was at the first appointment and got me scheduled for my colonoscopy with Dr. Zitomer. I had the procedure done, where the people were kind, the facility was clean, and Dr. Zitomer had a great bed side manner (and calmed my nerves before). And the procedure was quick and painless (and I didn't remember a thing). They even called to check and see how I was doing the next day. I would give him 5 stars alone for how great of a doctor he is and the nurse & staff at his outpatient facility the same.
The ONLY reason I am giving this office 4 stars is because after I was hospitalized, and had made an appointment, I called the office again to ask a few basic questions. When I did so, I spoke with a receptionist by the name of Mindy, who was so rude, I couldn't believe how she was speaking to me. Every time I asked a question she cut me off, didn't let me speak and had such a condescending tone. It was so bad that when I was on the phone with her I got to the point where I asked her name (she got very sassy and spelt it out for me, without me asking her to) and when I asked if there was an office manager, she had said 'no' but that there was someone next to her listening to the conversation and then put me on hold. I just hung up and was so frustrated (I had just been released out of the hospital the day before and was still very ill),that I was in tears and was so very close to canceling my appointment because of her behavior and unprofessionalism. She made me so uncomfortable that I was uneasy even going to the appointment. I was even going to call and see if they recorded the conversations over the phone but decided I didn't want to spend another ounce of energy on it (I had already put too much energy into her behavior and just wanted to focus on my health). BUT thank god I just stuck it through because everyone else at the office was kind and the doctor is wonderful along with PA Noelle.
