Was lucky enough to enjoy this great festival thanks to a Yelp contest. This was probably the first time I have visited King City and not simply driven through it. I appreciated the layout and atmosphere of a small town festival compared to those of bigger cities such as Toronto or Mississauga. It wasn't as hectic, there was always great live music playing from some local bands and a good variety of food trucks and craft beer vendors to choose from.
Tried the spam musabi fries from Wickedly Sinful and I was thinking it would be a little on the salty side but to my surprise the combination of fries, seaweed bits, diced spam and an aioli of some sort just works. We also tried some fish tacos from Gourmet Gringos and a margherita pizza from a wood-fired pizza food truck. The fish tacos were okay but the pizza was great (cannot remember the name of the truck!).
We also used our drink tickets towards some good cider, our favorite was the Thornbury Cider which was very refreshing. Overall, contest or not we would definitely come back to check out this festival in the future and I think it will continue to grow for years to come.
