The store is worth a visit even if you aren't a hobbyist. It's interesting to survey the vast array of hobby items. Impressive remote control (RC) planes are hung from the ceiling. The store has a self-teaching terminal for mastering RC devices. Unfortunately, a man and his young son were hogging the terminal so I didn't give it a try.
I inquired about my new hobby, combat wings. I don't actually own a wing. I was curious about starting.
The store doesn't cater to the combat wings crowd, but one of the red-shirted hobby mavens cheerfully told me that the pastime is active in the area.
During my visit, a man test-drove a RC dune buggy in the parking lot. It was a demon machine with one of those tiny internal combustion engines that emits a piercing whine. The man seemed to enjoy making it burn rubber.
I bought a hobby magazine. The female clerk was all smiles and helpfulness.
