Good morning everyone. I have come across an extremely dishonest, rude, and inconceivable interaction with AARCS. Recently there was a posting for a puppy named Rufus. After being approved by AARCS for adoption I was told that there was another family interested in the puppy and that they had first dibbs on him. Later that evening I received a phone call telling me that the family had decided not to take the puppy and that I had first choice if our family decided he was a good fit for us. When talking with the foster mom about setting up a meeting she informed me that she was debating about keeping him for herself (even though she had not informed AARCS of this at this point). I contacted Tami at AARCS and she told me that that does not follow protocol and that we still were first in line for this puppy. I later spoke with Holly the foster parent and she informed me that one of her dogs was very aggressive towards Rufus when introduced to him and that they would not be keeping him. We then set up at time for a meet and greet. This morning I received a phone call from Tami telling me that Rufus has been removed from the adoption board as Holly is going to continue trying to work with her aggressive dog towards Rufus. I was told that we are not even getting to complete the meet and greet because I have two children aged 3 and 5 and apparently Rufus is a "timid" dog, but apparently its OK to have a "timid' dog repeatedly put into contact with an aggressive older dog in order to force them to get along. This is an outrage and I can't believe they run their "rescue" business this way!!
