THIS PLACE IS THEE PERFECT FISH HOOK/LINE/SINKER NAIL SALON! I don't normally write reviews. This is my first on Yelp; that's actually been along time coming, but I feel as women the nail salon should be an enjoyable "moment for me" type of moment/establishment." I thought it only fair in my warning to other prospective customers of my experience to prevent them from having the same treatment as I had previously experienced.
THIS PLACE USE TO BE AMAZING TO ME, BUT AFTER THAT "moment for me" notion got ripped out from under me, and turned into thee "moment for them to see just $ signs" I NOTICED MY PRICES AND additional fees kept getting higher each visit.
They'll basically do your nails nice upon your first visits to get you hooked, and then proceed to line n' real you in you to nonchalantly up-charge/rob you blind!
I know some would say, "that's just sales!" BUT NO this was quite different than anything, I have ever experienced [that truly left me quite disappointed]-especially coming from customer service myself.
I was a loyal, returning customer/over tipper just to use the same nail girl "Charmaine," she was awesome rocked it [i'd still recommend her work though her treatment towards me was quite despicable] each time I went in, I did leave happy until the mishaps started to occur [being in customer service I always tipped way overboard/graciously for her services as well]! Like I mentioned above there's still a "hook/line/sinker" M.O.
It seemed after I was coming in more routinely my prices seemed to go more routinely up. When I went in for a routine fill, the lady whom normally did my nails keyword being "did," I noticed refilling them was in all actuality "thinning" my nails. She started telling me at the same time I remember thinking this at that moment before she said, "you need to come in more often." Then would proceed to laugh at in 2nd language banter with her co-workers [this is to be expected I suppose until it felt like they were laughing in their own language right in front of me].
I smiled and shrugged this off again thinking, "she's just being cute playing that she wanted me to come in more." I thought so...anyway as I had a good returning customer relationship [or so I thought], BUT I WAS ACTUALLY QUITE OBLIVIOUS TO BEING SCAMMED OUT OF MY MONEY!
In the next few wks to months, it seemed I was having to re-visit the nail salon more and more often than usual. Basically, started coming in with too many broken nails more than one at a time to be repaired, nails also having to get re-filled too soon, to have the salon only to be thinning them and after all for the time $$ spent in them as a loyal returning customer was a complete let down]-that was just too much.
I made sure after too long biting my tongue, and having to return too often after a fill...that my next visit I would make myself sure to say something about it...Like clock work I got my last broken nail after a fill [NOT full-set].
After I finally realized it...I was being duped! I finally went in there SAT DOWN WHILE SHE WAS W/ a CUSTOMER AND PERSISTED; proceeded to tell her, "you're thinning my nails to make me come in here more often." She did my nails still that day, BUT THE FINAL POINT TO THIS REVIEW IS THAT, SHE DECIDES TO TELL ME AFTER ALL MY GRACIOUS/COURTESY UPON MY LAST VISIT; "THAT IT WOULD BE MY LAST VISIT WITH HER IN GENERAL!"
OF COURSE, I COULDN'T HELP BUT ASK THE REASON; TURNS OUT SHE HAD LOST CUSTOMERS, WHILE THEY WERE OVER HEARING OUR CONVERSATION THE DAY I CONFRONTED HER "THAT SHE WAS ACTUALLY THINNING MY
NAILS TO KEEP ME COMING IN MORE OFTEN!"
To put it blatantly this place is a complete rip off! I hope if anyone is reading this review; that I can at least prevent my experience from happening to you, and it help you prevent from having one similar to the one I experienced as well.
