  • As an avid traveler, Yelp is a daily part of my life. Most though do not review things such as barbers near enough, or as much as restaurants and bars. At times, it becomes difficult to determine what criteria differentiates one from another therefore giving the ability to decide which actually best fits me. Having read reviews of many different locations here in PHX, I followed my instinct and made an appointment here at the Groom Room. And boy were my instincts right! I normally get a cut every 2-3 weeks but having so much trouble finding a barber that I felt could get it right the first time, I was literally three months since my last cut. I sat in the chair around 10:10 am for my 10:00 am appointment. Yes I was late but I had called ahead due to having some trouble locating the entrance. Having explained the best I could, Jacob started at his work. He is talented at his work in that he is discussing the details with you as he works. There are no 'rough' techniques in his work. It is clear he has mastered his craft! I also had a beard trim and 'cleaned' the edges with a straight razor. In the end, he asked how it looked and to my surprise, it was perfect. Only 2-3 others achieved a perfect cut the first time. You will be very satisfied with your choice here! And if you do have the chance to sit in Jacobs chair, a touch of sarcasm brings out his best! But only a touch..... :-)
