| - I happened to walk by the showroom on my way to one of the adjacent businesses and decided to check it out as I want to remodel my bathroom. The associate inside was very nice and offered me a free consultation to have a designer come out to my house, measure my bathroom, and give me an estimate. He told me even if I decide not to go with their company, I could keep the design they came up with and use it elsewhere. He told me that the appointment would take one hour.
The designer arrived at my home right on time and proceeded to measure my bathroom and then we went to my dining room where she proceeded to give us a very long presentation on the history of the company, complete with photos of the founder and his kids. I really didn't care to hear or see all of this for the amount of time she spent on it. It was another 30 minutes before she even started pulling out samples and we could start discussing design options and did a virtual design on her ipad. After we finally chose our options that we wanted, she proceeded to take an eternity to calculate and scribble down a quote on some lined paper in her notepad. Her presentation included some BS really high numbers about the average cost to remodel a bathtoom in Las Vegas so that her much lower quote would seem cheap even though it was still way more than I wanted to spend on my bathroom. I asked her if I could have a copy of the iPad design as well as formal quote emailed to me so that I could review it with my parents and she said she would only tell us the final price and refused to give me the paper she was writing on and never emailed me anything. She used the usual pushy sales tactics, saying that price would only be good if I committed that night. I told her I couldn't do that and that I would call her in a week as I was leaving on a business trip the following day and needed some time to discuss it with my family. To top it all off, she was at my house for almost 3 hours!
Two days later, while I'm away at my business seminar, both my father and myself get a phone call from a sales associate at their headquarters calling with "good news" about a "special deal" they were doing. My dad was very annoyed they were calling him about it and I never told them that they could call him to discuss it. I wad annoyed they were bothering me 2 days later at my business trip when I specifically told her I would call her back in a week because I was leaving on a trip. I promptly called back and left a message that we would not be using their services and to please stop calling us. Low and behold, the same person just called me again a day later, on a Sunday, and left the same voicemail. Pushy, pushy, pushy. I do not like doing business with people who use such pushy sales tactics, bothering me on the weekend, and wasting my time.
