Well Jan Rouven was extremely entertaining, captivating, and funny. A great family show! I enjoyed how they filled the space between tricks with dancing, it was fun and exciting! Everyone enjoyed the show from my grandmother to my little brother. Amazing show for the price! I have seen every single mainstream show in Las Vegas and as far as magic shows go this did not disappoint!
However, I was beyond dismayed and disgusted by the ushers at the show. Not only were they rude and disorganized but they seemed to have no idea what was going on. Seats are not assigned and basically on a first come, first serve basis. We were told to sit in a row by one usher then rudely told by another usher that these seats were not for general admission tickets. Instead of seating us in the appropriate seats she waved her hand rudely in another direction and told us to sit. Ten minutes after we had sat she came back to us and told us we were not in the correct seats and made us move AGAIN, when she was the one who had sat us there in the first place.
As if this wasn't bad enough, on the way out you're expected to go through the gift shop and down a long ramp. I was with my elderly grandmother who can not walk too well. I asked the usher if we could just go down the stairs he was blocking as my grandmothers nurse was at the bottom with her wheelchair and he said no, we must walk all the way around through the gift shop. To say I was shocked by this response was an understatement. Not only was I appalled by his brazen rudeness but my grandmother was extremely upset because she doesn't walk well and gets extremely nervous in crowds. Well there were about 200 people coming out of the theater and it was an extremely difficult walk for my grandmother with the entire crowd trying to squeeze through at once. We were pushed and bumped into in the crowd.
I have been to almost every show in Las Vegas and I have never been treated so rudely. However, I still give the show four stars because it's not Jan Rouvens fault that the ushers at his show are rude and incompetent. I urge the tropicana to teach a class in employee manners. I will certainly think twice about patronizing this place again.
