| - A glimpse into the world of an ice cream parlor of yore, Sweet Moses delights with its seductive, hand-crafted confections and flawless décor. Expect to wait if you arrive on a weekend, however, as there is typically a gigantic line. Much has been made of the aesthetic of the place, and with good reason: Sweet Moses seems to have burgeoned from a Norman Rockwell daydream. The counters gleam, ingredients are frequently pulled from antique refrigerated cabinetry, and all of the soda jerks are clad in starched white ensembles--doctors of the sweetness, one is tempted to call them. The ice cream and sodas are uniformly superb, and you pay for it (thifty ice cream hounds would do well to look elsewhere). The Mount Carmel is perhaps the single best sundae I have ever encountered. It is worth noting that seating is cramped, but the tables are spiffy like everything else. To get a place promptly, sitting at the counter is recommended, as you can mitigate the agonizing line.
